Itinerary

We will pick you up from the airport or hotel on our private van and take you to our horse ranch, located in La Mansion de Nicoya, Guanacaste. You will meet your horse and have plenty of time to make sure you have a good conection and test that everything is ready for the trek ahead as we ride around the ranch, herding some catte or just climbing up the hill for a beatiful sunset view.

After an amazing breakfast at the ranch, horses will be loaded and sent to Playa Islita. We will saddle up by the ocean and start our ride to Playa Corozalito. We will climb some hills for a spectacular view of the coast line, then come down to the little town of Corozalito for a refreshment stop, and continue to Palma de Oro Hotel, surrounded by tropical dry forest and just a walk away from the beach where the turtles will be hatching. The horses will stay at their pasture next to the hotel.

We will depart from Playa Corozalito. After crossing the stuary at the end of the beach, we will head to Playa Bejuco, a secluded and lonely beach, no houses, no hotels, nothing but the beach and us. We will ride again until the end of the beach, crossing the stuary at the fishers village, and then continue until we arrive to the majestic and long beach of San Miguel, where we will spend the night right next to the ocean. Horses stay at a pasture in front of the house and will be availble to ride and play in the ocean at any time.

After a good night sleep hearing the ocean, we will spend the day riding down the beach of Playa San Miguel, that strechtes for approximately 6 miles along the Pacific Ocean, a beatiful spot where we can get to enjoy the beach and our horses in relative solitude, almost feels like you were on our own private plot of seaside land. Ride across the estuary and arrive to Costa de Oro beach, and check out the sea turtle conservation project operation. All meals will be served at the house, right by the ocean.Try authentic Costa Rican cuisine served by dona Dominga, a local and native to this little town who has been cooking for visitors for over 30 years.

This is our last day at the beach. You will have all morning to explore Playa San Miguel and play in the waves with your horse. After a great lunch served by the ocean, we will load the horses on the truck and head home ourselves. The van will take you to Liberia International Airport or any hotel nearby. Transport to other destinations can also be coordinated if you have decided to stick around Costa Rica.
